Virtual, mixed and augmented reality offer unprecedented opportunities for education and training. This presentation provides an overview of
some of the current research projects that highlight these opportunities.
Do virtual reality glasses offer benefits when training personnel? How can CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) mixed reality systems be used in training and education? How can augmented reality solutions in surgery rooms be used? And how can we let 11-year olds experience what a selected few have experienced: viewing planet Earth from space?

  • Experience the opportunities virtual, mixed and augmented reality have to offer.
  • Learn about the evidence of these technologies when used in
    training and education.
  • Revisit aspects of education that we have taken for granted by
introducing intelligent tutoring systems, serious games, stealth
    assessment and artificial intelligence.
